This lecture should presents an analysis of the challenges facing the tyre retreading industry due to a lack of substantial political support, through the lens of wdk (Wirtschaftsverband der deutschen Kautschukindustrie e.V., i.e. German Rubber Manufacturers Association). The discussion will assess the current policy landscape that has marginalized retreading, despite its potential to contribute significantly to environmental sustainability and economic efficiency.

We will explore how the wdk, together with other stakeholders can play a pivotal role in advocating for more supportive legislative and regulatory frameworks.
